A quick note to let you know that you can host your iSeries disaster recovery (DR) system at our premises.
Success Story
Recently a customer purchased a high availability solution from us for their IBM iSeries environment. This involved Maxava HA software licenses, installation and setup of the Maxava HA software and associated ongoing maintenance.
IBM iSeries 810
As part of the solution, the customer purchased their DR server from us. In this case, due to a requirement for an older OS release, they purchased a used iSeries model 810 along with maintenance. This server is being hosted in the data centre at our new purpose-built premises. The server is power protected by UPS and our generator.
The customer also purchased our iSeries monitoring service for both their production and disaster recovery servers. For this service, their servers are configured to provide alerts to their designated e-mail addresses, including SMS providers if required.
Our technical specialists also receive these alerts. The alerts include:
- hardware and OS software errors,
- completion of overnight backups,
- disk capacity and CPU utilisation exceeding thresholds,
- loss of communication between production and disaster recovery servers,
- application subsystems inactive and
- Maxava HA messages.
