When you purchase a second-hand IBM iSeries server from Computer Merchants, you can be confident that you receive it ready to turn on and start loading your data right away.

The key steps we take when preparing an iSeries machine for you

• First of all the disks are initialized.
• Licensed Internal Codes (LIC’s) are loaded.
• OS/400 is loaded from a set of genuine IBM CDs.
• IBM licensed programs are also loaded if they have been purchased from us.
• At this point we ensure that any unwanted licensed programs that can potentially cause problems are removed from your system. For example, if the media and storage extensions component of OS/400 is loaded when you aren’t licensed for it, it may cause your backups to fail once it has been loaded for 70 days.
• The latest Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs) available to us are loaded.
• The system gets configured with the Australia / New Zealand date format of dd/mm/yyyy.
• The system is configured with security level 20 which is password only. We leave it for you to set up further security if required.
