How We Streamline Getting Your Hardware Through Customs

Cargo Management Re-engineering Delays Through Customs

Australian Customs Service - protecting our bordersMany of us have read or heard about the delays Customs have been experiencing lately. There have been numerous media reports on a new clearing process called Cargo Management Re-Engineering (CMR). CMR has been running for the past couple of months, and promises to be a much more streamlined method of clearing imported goods.

You will be happy to hear that the bulk of our shipments do not encounter International Clearance delays.

We currently use Federal Express to ship our international orders and we benefit from having our own dedicated contacts who notify us when shipments moving on our account experience any delays.

Our Fedex contacts are quite efficient when it comes to communicating the status of our shipments and are well aware of our requirements to keep our customers informed on their orders. If a potential problem is identified, action is taken immediately to ensure risk of delay is ‘nipped in the bud’.

Another procedure we benefit from is the fact that all of our shipments are pre-cleared

This means our paperwork is lodged upon shipment so most of our goods are cleared through Customs before they even hit the country to avoid hold-ups at the customs depot!

From the first day your order is sent through to Computer Merchants, to the day it is delivered, the Computer Merchants Team are dedicated to ensuring all of our customers receive their goods as quickly and as effortlessly as possible.

Should there ever be any delay for shipments either locally or from an overseas supplier, our friendly Logistics Team will be sure to keep you informed all the way. Call us on 1800 777 111 to ask how we can help you with your hardware shipping needs.
