That’s a question we often get asked here at Computer Merchants. The answer of course depends on:
- where you are,
- what you’re after and
- what we have in stock at the time.
There have been many times when we’ve helped a customer get out of a sticky situation. Here’s a recent example involving an Auckland based customer.
Monday afternoon: A customer phones us from Auckland “We need another 245GB of disk for our iSeries, how soon can we have it? If we can’t install the disks next Monday morning then we have to call our customers to advise them there will be a system outage while we do the upgrade.”
Tuesday: The customer sends their purchase order for the disks.
Friday: The customer takes delivery of their disks.
The following Monday morning: The customer receives a phone call from their Computer Merchants rep to confirm that the disks had been installed that morning during their maintenance window.
Due to the fast delivery, they didn’t have to phone their customers to advise of an outage. Phew!
