IBM 9034 ESCON Converter For Mainframe Upgrades

The IBM 9034 ESCON Converter offers parallel channel I/O attachment via ESCON channels, allowing the attachment of many I/O devices with parallel channel adapters to ESCON channels.

This provides a migration path to the ES Connection Architecture environment without modifying either the I/O control unit or the application software.

The IBM 9034-001’s are readily available and may well be an inexpensive alternative to expensive replacement of parallel attached equipment.
