As some of you may have heard, last year in June I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Yes, it was a long shot and I got the short end of the stick, but as things go, I got through it and I am ok. I have just had my 12 month check and I am CLEAR!
Now I don’t want to tell you this so you will feel sorry for me….. And buy heaps of equipment….. Which I want you to do all the time regardless!
Amazon Heart
I went to a support group and was introduced to Amazon Heart. They are a group of young breast cancer survivors, which do adventures for women who have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It was here I was told about a motor bike ride that survivors can participate in Australia, UK and USA.
When I heard about the motor bike ride, I was inspired especially because you get to do this on a NEW Harley Davidson. One of my dreams is to ride a Harley, and now I have not only the opportunity, but also the courage to do this.
I have chosen to learn how to ride a motor bike, and join in the Adventure in October to ride from Melbourne to Adelaide. So for 10 days in mid October I will be joining 20 other survivor princesses to take to the road.
Funds raised by our ride will support peer support programs run by Amazon Heart and Dragons Abreast Australia.
I hope you will consider joining my journey and learn more about what I’ll be doing by visiting www.amazonheartthunder.org. Read my online story about why I am so passionate about taking part and click on the links to make your online donation.
Nova’s Singing Office
Thank you to Computer Merchants for donating $1500. I entered Computer Merchants in the “Singing Office” competition on Nova 106.9FM and we won. I had to say in 25 words or less why Nova should visit us and my reason was the donation. The prize was that we sang a song on the radio and then had pizza and drinks provided for afternoon tea.
Thank you for considering this request. I look forward to sharing good news with you post-Ride as I will have completed a personal journey to support women with breast cancer and helping ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone.
