University Of South Australia Upgrades Their Sun V880s

We received a phone call late last year from the University of South Australia asking about the Sun V880 System Boards that we had offered to many of you several months earlier.

The guys at the University were concerned that as they had all of their maintenance with Sun Microsystems, they might not be able to purchase boards from us as they wouldn’t be covered by their agreement with Sun Microsystems should one of the boards fail.

We were quick to assure the University that not only would Sun Microsystems maintain the boards in the University’s machines but Sun Microsystems would also come out to certify the boards and install them on site.

With the amount they were able to save by buying the boards from us, the University was actually able to upgrade four of their V880’s.

The University is now able to cope with the extra workload that was being placed on their machines. They are also able to relax in the knowledge that should anything go wrong, they are well and truly protected – just like they would be if the boards had been purchased from Sun Microsystems.
